What company do you work in now?

Now I work at Powercode. It is a full-cycle web and mobile development outsourcing IT company with offices in Ukraine, Germany, USA and Singapore.

 

What position do you hold?

Head of UI/UX Department. I have 4 designers in my team. 

 

What are your responsibilities?

My responsibilities include managing the design team, controlling the engagement of designers and distributing tasks between them, as well as directly tasks related to UX and UI on large-scale projects.

 

What projects have you participated in?

According to the results of 2019, we received a number of awards and entered the top 3 small outsourcing teams in Ukraine.

What is the most challenging and exciting project you have participated in?

The project I am currently involved in is a project for a large end-user, which is engaged in printing. This is a production facility that employs hundreds of workers who ensure the fulfillment of orders from Apple, Samsung, Sony and other large companies. My task is to develop UI design for a system that should provide automation for 19 specialist roles in this company.

 

What role did IT Step Academy play in your life?

Thanks to the Academy, I was able to try myself in different areas of IT and choose what I really liked, namely design. I want to express my gratitude to all the teachers who made the training bright, interesting and unforgettable.

 

What can you advise students who are currently studying at the Academy?

Read more professional literature, be sure to learn English and read articles by foreign authors. Do not be afraid to participate in various specialized tournaments of your specialty, follow already successful developers, designers of your city or country in social networks and ask them to give feedback on your work or ask questions. Attend various IT meetups, gain new knowledge and make new acquaintances.
