In 2023, I graduated from the Software Development course at IT Step Academy Bila Tserkva.
WHAT COMPANY DO YOU WORK FOR NOW? WHAT ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?
I work as a backend developer at SheepFish. In my work, I use the Laravel framework for developing web applications in PHP. I ensure the development of the server side of websites and various applications. I develop all the logic - from thinking through the architecture of the website application to its implementation. That is, this is the part that we do not see on the web resource - from authorization, verification, registration, connection to payment systems, etc.
WHAT WAS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE PROJECT THAT YOU ARE PROUD OF?
I've been working in IT for over a year. I've had a lot of freelance projects - I've developed landing pages and applications for various businesses in Bila Tserkva. These include fixes for iOS and Android apps, etc. Previously, I had clients only from Ukraine, but now I have clients from the United States and Europe.
Unfortunately, I cannot talk about many projects due to commercial confidentiality. One of the interesting public projects was the development of the Vetus Map mobile application for search engines for history lovers.
WHAT ROLE DID ITSTEP PLAY IN YOUR LIFE?
I wanted to start studying IT for a long time. There were no specialized institutions in the city. In 2020, an IT Step branch opened in Bila Tserkva. I was very interested, so I enrolled. Six months later, the excitement disappeared, but the desire to learn and motivation remained.
The IT Step Academy helped me learn how to systematize my work. You have tasks and time to complete a project. This systematization made it clear that you have to do the job well and meet the deadlines.
Programming is the kind of thing that develops your perseverance and discipline. And you realize that nothing is quick and easy. That's what I like about development. Programming is not about money. When a person goes into a profession for the sake of money, it's like love without love.
Programming is for me the God Mod. That is, when you can make everything out of nothing. You only need a computer and imagination. For example, I only need a laptop and a chair to create any Android application that will conditionally calculate utility bills, or to write a website and sell it. This is the creator mode. I get a lot of pleasure from it.
WHAT DO YOU WISH FOR OUR YOUNG STUDENTS?
I would like to wish students to be patient. It is important that they decide which discipline they like best and develop in it. Don't expect everything to be given to you and chewed out. You need to learn a lot on your own.
It is imperative to learn English, as it is indispensable nowadays. And, of course, you have to work hard. I have a golden rule: it's better to work two hours a day than five hours on weekends.
