What company do you work for now?

Today I work at EDETEK as a Senior Software Engineer Team Lead. This is an American product company that develops solutions for clinics, pharmaceutical companies, and medical equipment manufacturers.

What are your responsibilities?

My main responsibility is to manage the development of one of the company's products. The process includes both team lead work and work on the product database architecture and interaction with other system components.

What projects have you been involved in?

There have been many projects over the past 10 years. Unfortunately, most of them are under NDA. Oracle Field Service Cloud (OFSC) is one of the open ones.

OFSC is a leader in the field service management industry in the United States. Every third "technician" in America uses our software, whether it's a courier company, TV/Internet provider, or printer service. All of them have OFSC installed on their mobile phones and tablets. A product of this level is the work of several hundred professionals.

My contribution to OFSC is to work as a devil (lead specialist) on one of the internal services responsible for maintaining geoinformation, object shapes on maps, and various business features related to geoinformation

What role did ITSTEP Academy play in your life?

My programming studies began with reading the book `C++ in 21 Days` and I realized that theory and technology alone would not be enough, I needed practice. At the Academy, I was able to structure my C++ knowledge, I learned dozens of technologies here and could immediately use the knowledge gained in projects. We performed a lot of practical tasks. The Academy has great teachers who helped and advised us if something didn't work out the first time, and I am grateful to them for that.

What advice can you give to students who are currently studying at the Academy?

My advice is to love what you do and always learn something new. Do not rely on a teacher, you will have to do 90% of the work yourself. This is the only way to achieve something.
