Technical Team Lead/Solution Architect at Provectus:

Graduated from:

Software programming

What company do you work for now?

I am currently working at the outsourcing company Provectus as a Technical Team Lead/Solution Architect. The company develops solutions for secure and efficient data transfer from IBM mainframes to cloud services. I am currently working in the team of the British startup company eD3P.

What are your responsibilities?

My responsibilities include:

- Managing a distributed team of 13 people;
- Creating and implementing agile development methodologies;
- Developing the platform architecture. Writing an architectural description of the IEEE standard;
- drawing up and implementing short- and medium-term plans (roadmap) for the development and growth of the team/project;
- participating in the company's static planning;
- creating and conducting demos for potential customers;

What projects have you been involved in?

There is detailed information on Linkedin:

Tell us about a more complex and interesting project you are proud of.

Probably the one I'm working on right now. We are developing a rather unique product based on a self-written implementation of the internal protocol (Fiber channel/Ficon) of IBM's infrastructure. We are engaged in remote connection to the mainframe and other parts of the infrastructure, data migration and secure encrypted transfer to cloud services. No one else in the world is engaged in such development. The product is a server with a PCIe card and a web interface. Accordingly, a very large technology stack is used.

What role did ITSTEP Academy play in your life?

A big one. It gave an understanding of modern software development. It gave me a broad understanding of programming in general. After that, it didn't matter to me what language I was coding in. And of course, a deep understanding of the C++ language concept.

What advice can you give to students who are currently studying at the Academy?

The most important thing is to understand that you can't stop in your self-development and self-education. In our industry, if you stop, you are already behind. Read a lot, watch a lot of training videos, sign up for courses on online educational platforms (Coursera, Udacity, Udemy, and others). People who can solve modern business problems and challenges, people who work for results, will always be in demand.
