What company do you work for now?

I am currently working as a Technical Support engineer at PortaOne.

What are your responsibilities?

My responsibilities include: investigation and verification issues, database recovery and replication monitoring, IP firewall configuration and security updates, system downtime/failure assistance, system monitoring.

Tell us about the most challenging and interesting project you are proud of?

While studying at the Academy, I became interested in the Smart Home and wanted to try to create my own.

So I started developing it, using Python as a basis because I studied this language at the Academy.

I created a server to which I added voice recognition (something like my own voice assistant) and started using ESP32 so that I could create automation (turning off lights with my voice and the like) and added sensors (like temperature, humidity...). Later, he created a web page that could also be used to control the house and view the values from the sensors.

This is how this project grew into a hobby. Whenever I have an idea to automate something, I add it to the project, so over time it becomes larger and sometimes more complex, depending on the idea :)

The next thing I would like to add is a white IP address so that it can be used regardless of location.

What role did ITSTEP Academy play in your life?

A key role in my future )))      I started my acquaintance with the IT field at the IT STEP Small Computer Academy.   This course covered various subjects, such as website development, game programming, learning Photoshop and Illustrator, and others. Thanks to such a broad and relevant program, I realized what was more interesting to me and in which direction I wanted to develop.

Therefore, after the MCA, I continued my studies at the course “Software Development” - it played a key role in acquiring technical knowledge and choosing a profession, my future!!!

In this course, thanks to professional teachers and a structured course program, I received all the necessary knowledge. Thanks to all the teachers who taught me - you are real professionals)

What advice can you give to students who are currently studying at the Academy?

If I were asked - “Where can I not only get an IT education, but also become a ready-made specialist for employment?” - definitely at IT STEP Academy!!! I would like to advise current and future students of the Academy: look for information about various professions in IT and choose the one that is most interesting to you, decide on a direction and study it in depth at IT STEP Academy :), learn English - it opens up foreign labor markets for you.  Good luck to everyone!!!
